Why would you want to dstyle?
Honestly, I prefer dstyle over kstyle because of one thing. The block ability.
Why need to block when your fast
enough to dodge? Dstyle gives freedom, speed, evasion, and a large
amount of possibilites. Plus, makes you feel good when you kill a
player and then get called a "dagger noob". When they say that they
mean "I just lost to a player who can't block..."
Does Dstyle > Kstyle?
This seriously depends on the player, I personally, can take any
kstyler(most of the time) but for just learning dstylers, you will need
a month or two before you can contend with a decent kstyler
Well then, lets get cooking
Key Setup
This is what I use, feel free to use your own.
Weapon 1 = Q
Weapon 2 = E
Dagger = T
Item 1 = Z
Item 2 = X
Attack = Left click + Y
Lunge = F
1. The basics
Gotta learn to walk before you can run.
i. Stab
The primary attack of dstyle, each stab stimulates a short stun effect on the target, used for the big guns in dstyle.
Hao2do: Fire key
ii. Stab Circle
Walk in a circle around your target while stabbing, if done right it, can score some pretty nice damage.
Hao2do: Stab + Circle opponent
iii. Stun Lock (Cornering)
When anyone is in a corner, this legally makes them your BOBBA. Do stab
circle combined with the close space of the walls and this can kill
even some pro's occasionally.
Hao2do: Push them into a wall + Circle
iv. Lunge
The signature move of dstyle, used for a few things (if you get to a good level)
It basically rears the dagger arm back and pushes your target, if they
do not safe fall they will be helpless on the ground for an insta kill.
Hao2do: F (or lunge key)

2. Advanced
Time to start some more tougher moves
i.Dagger Hop
A very useful evading move, also used as a root for a various of other
moves. Accurate kstylers have trouble hitting these guys if the dagger
hop is done correctly
Hao2do: Jump + dash + stab
ii.Dagger Flash
Now we can get crafty, the beginning of the daggers gifted evasion. You
can dash twice (more if your good) in the air, get ready to dodge alot
of shottys. Excellent for confusing kstylers and checking corners for
hiding massives
Hao2do: jump + dash + stab + dash
iii.Dagger Train
Used for probably one of the most coolest moves in dstyle, dagger train
can cause quite a bit of damage if you catch a kstyler mid BF. You
cancel the dash with your stab and repeat. You can tell its done
correctly when you see the dash animation, but your running.
Hao2do: dash + stab (Repeat)
For timing sake, instead of + I will now start using ...'s
iv.JSD (Jump shoot dash)
I use this move all the time, it pretty mutch tells you how to do it,
you jump, switch to gun and fire, switch back to dagger and dash away.
A very evasive move, as Cysote says "Just like any other technique, don’t overuse it or people will start
aiming right above you…waiting for you to jump so they can nail yah."
Hao2do: Jump..switch to gun shoot.switch to dagger dash (repeat)
v.Stab Shot
A great way to get some kills in, even against decent people. You dash
in, give them a few quick stabs with your dagger (lets say 3 because
more or less will most likely fail) then
dash away and shoot. The three stabs lets the opponent think that "Hey,
this guy is gonna kill me if I don't block." 94% of all kstylers think
this so its an easy kill, but probably only useful once per opponent.
Hao2do: Stab.stab.stab..shoot
vi. Wall Raiding
A good way to cover some ground, you can basically wall run around
corners with this move, you must turn your camera fast enough for this
to work.
Hao2do: wall run..stab+jump
vii. Extended Lunge (Elunge)
Many people call this move "useless", they apparently have never used
it. An elunge can do many things, from covering ground quickly, to
making turtles cry. Elunge has its purpose everywhere. Don't be
discouraged, this move takes some time to get down. You basically dash
and lunge at the same time
TIP: I've seen many dstylers just up and master this move and this move
alone, elunge spammers can almost beat any kstyler if there REALLY good.
Hao2do: dash(LUNGE)
viii. Block Tap
Commonly used against turtlers or kstylers who are like "Omg im losing, tiem to toortle."
Everyone knows theres no way to break a block unless with a lunge,
which if misses leaves you open for a mountain of damage. But what if
you didnt have to break the guard? Just trick them? Block tapping
basically stabs their block, gives them a massive, while not knocking
you off balance. You can kill many a kstyler with this move.
Hao2do: dash forward..stab(angle camera straight up or down).dash back
ix.Yoyo Hop
A move commonly used by kstylers, and when you a kstyler see's a
dstyler use this, it throws them for a loop. A yoyo hop is kinda tricky
if you've never done one in dstyle before. You jump and switch to your
gun and dash, all before you get to the highest point of your jump.
Your trying to dash before you pull your gun out all the way, and at
the top of the jump
Hao2do: jump.switch.dash

3. Expert
Time for the good stuff
i.Dagger Machine
This is a good little "I'm gonna do some high speed stabbing, then im
gonna blast ya" move. Manipulate the frames of hitting and attack
frames and bend it to a stun lock. I do not suggest doing this in
serious games considering the timing is so precious if one late / early
stab is done you are a goner.
Haod2do: Dash.Stab..Jump&Turn..Dash&Stab..switch gun..shoot..(repeat if neccesary.)
ii.Dagger Gatling
Good vs a BF kstyler. Requires you to get hit, in return for a almost
guranteed kill. You run in head on against a kstyler, stab(BUT DO NOT
HIT THEM) get hit by the bf and lunge at the SAME TIME. This cancels
the lunge animation, but the lunge is still going. So basically your
lunge is going and you can run up and shank the kstyler to death.
Timing is tough.
Hao2do: Stab(Be sure not to hit them)..Lunge(hit them now)
iii.Dagger juggle
My FAVORITE move. This is a insta kill if you have a fast dagger and
are good. whenever your opponent is in the air, run up to them and
start a dagger train. The hit animation in gunz "is not affected by
gravity" Meaning if you stab enough they will be suspended in the air,
helpless. Good for getting kills in
Hao2do: Dagger train (to an airborn player)
There are a few more moves (namely phantoming, drop gatling, etc.) But I don't know how to explain these.
iv.Dagger Piston
A good move for all occasions, and a less confusing alternate to Dagger
Machine. Dash at your enemies and stab half way through the dash, dash
back, stab and dash forward. Pretty nice for quests (Dashes can be
short as you want.)
Hao2Do: Dash forward.stab..dashbackwards&stab.dash forward.stab..dash
4.Branch Moves
i.Dagger Shimmer
The more advanced dagger flash, instead of just two dashes with two
stabs lets throw in a shot into this. If you don't get good at these,
your gonna have to do it jumping down from things. Your basically
shooting before the second dash.
Hao2do: Jump..dash.switch-shoot.switch-dash
ii.Shimmering Machine
Pretty much the more advanced, deadlier cousin of Dagger machine. It
kills pretty fast, you give up some speed for the damage, but there
locked by the hit animation so you shouldn't have problems
Hao2do: Jump.dash.stab*turn..switch*turn*shoot..repeat
.Skill.
The only factor in dstyle I would say. It requires alot of it. If you aren't good at getting good then dstyle is not for you.
Credits: I quoted a two things from cysote, the rest is all me.
Thanks for reading! I hope you get good at dstyle ;]
